Join the Sideshow team as aN Account Director and work with a lovely bunch of people delivering great work across an impressive client list.

At Sideshow, we partner with some of the world’s most loved brands to help them realise what they can do. We bring together breakthrough strategic and creative thinking, and advanced technology knowledge, to deliver positive experiences for customers and value back to businesses.

In 2018, The Drum ranked us seventh in the top 100 agencies as part of their Independent Agencies Census. And we topped out the league table of the 50 best digital agencies in the Wirehive 100. So, there’s never been a better time to join us.

We’re looking for an Account Director to help look after a growing list of great clients, alongside a lovely bunch of people in one of the UK’s fastest growing independent agency groups.

As an Account Director, you’ll:

  • Get to know your clients’ businesses inside out, making sure our work delivers value and helps them do what they do even better.

  • Spot opportunities and come up with ideas to grow the account and build client relationships.

  • Always have an ear on what clients say about us and our work, so we know we’re doing the right thing.

  • Take the lead on delivering work; from understanding client briefs, to briefing the creative teams, checking work, sharing it with clients, and making sure we act fast on their feedback.

  • Work with the creative teams to make sure we’re pushing client briefs and staying proactive.

  • Own the detail of every job and be accountable for it; for your own jobs and the ones that belong to your direct reports.

  • A responsible for management and reporting for your client set; including forecasting, project reconciliation and preparing quarterly account plans.

  • Stick to (and improve on) agency processes, to make sure we’re always working in the most effective way possible.

  • Coach and manage your direct reports to help them do their best work.

  • Step up and fill in for the Group Account Director when they need you to.

  • Keep an open mind when it comes to different opinions, help your team out, get stuck in when it’s needed, and give feedback in the moment to acknowledge good work.

  • Take the lead when it comes to on-boarding new clients and immersing them in our agency processes.

  • Help with new business pitches and represent us at key client events like proposals and project updates.

In an increasingly connected and fast changing world we believe there is always more that brands can do for business. And that businesses can do for their customers. Finding the time to identify those opportunities and then deliver on them requires strong partnerships — and a ‘can do’ attitude.

You don’t have to come from an agency background, but you do need to be passionate, full of initiative and willing to get stuck in. If you’re our kind of person, you’ll:

  • Be confident and care about what we do, wanting to develop your career in an environment where no two days are the same.

  • Work well under pressure, being flexible where you need to, but always staying focussed and positive about the end goal.

  • Be able to get across your ideas in a clear and concise way.

  • Be curious and passionate about all things digital, marketing, content and social, with experience across all of these areas.

  • Be well organised, versatile and happy to turn your hand to lots of different things.

  • Have a track record of building exceptional business relationships, either client or agency side.

  • Be a confident written and verbal communicator, with a strong attention to detail and an eye for great design.

  • Care about delivering great work, be willing to go above and beyond, and have the track record to prove it.

  • Be looking for the next step in your agency career where you’ve been working as a Senior account Manager. Or looking to kick start your agency career by coming over from client side, where you’ve been working as a Marketing, Content or Community Manager.
