BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, wanted to re-engage the 'rockstars' of the IT industry – professionals within the IT community who are deeply passionate about what they do, highly technical and often feel misunderstood by the organisations they work in. So we wanted to show that BCS 'gets them'.
We created a game. More specifically, a personality test that revealed what computer you were most like. The questions were composed with the help of some of the leading brains within the BCS. They were often a little abstract, highly technical, industry in-joke led, and our 'rockstars' loved it.
We were explicit in claiming that this was not based on science, but rather a piece of entertainment. That was part of the joy in this project, a client who wanted to engage with its target audience in a way that was relevant, involving and above all, fun.
