Account Director

Eleven Miles, one of the UK’s leading and most awarded independent integrated creative agencies, is looking for a highly experienced Account Director to join the team.

With extensive senior account handling experience, ideally in an advertising agency environment, you will be hands-on with the day-to-day management and supervision of some of our key clients.

A great communicator and people manager, you will be confident working with budgets, liaising with clients and internal departments, and importantly, developing your team. You’ll be confident dealing with contacts at every level including presenting, project managing, and balancing day-to-day responsibilities with a strategic focus on promoting, developing, and extending the business of the agency.

You’ll love all that’s traditional and digital and have a passion and flair for the creative business, teamwork, numbers, and most importantly, delighting clients.

 

Roles & responsibilities

 
  • Lead client accounts within the agency, with overall responsibility for the client agency relationship.

  • Write inspirational creative briefs and work with the planning team to direct the strategic development of creative work, presenting and selling this effectively to clients.

  • Work effective with other client agencies to ensure integrated work is delivered for the client; sharing knowledge and gaining insight.

  • Ensure the profitability and growth of client accounts.

  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities with existing and future agency clients.

  • Negotiate contracts and fees with marketing directors and client procurement personnel.

  • Manage the work, performance and professional development of team members.

  • Lead and inspire those outside of the core team, including creative teams and those in other agencies working on the same account.

  • Ensure accurate reporting, invoicing and management of key financial data to the MD, CSD and Finance.

  • Maintain a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting your accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industry.

  • Focused on the personal and professional development of your team to optimise their combined performance, understanding when to give praise, motivational feedback and constructive criticism, but also when to ‘be the boss’.

  • Good at evaluating creative work; able to give and receive feedback to support its development.
